Senior Rx Care of Nebraska is seeking Full-Time Licensed Pharmacist to work in a fast-paced closed-door pharmacy dedicated to exceptional customer service. The right candidate will actively participate in and oversee all aspects of workflow to ensure that medications provided to residents are safe, accurate and available in a timely manner in accordance with all state and federal regulations. Essential Job Functions:
- Performs and/or oversees the completion of all routine and tasks, including but not limited to:
- Evaluate medication orders for appropriateness of drug, dosage, route of administration, potential drug interactions, special geriatric considerations, warnings/precautions associated with prescribed medication, potential adverse reactions, and stability.
- Suggest therapeutic intervention based on Senior Rx Care Formulary to physician and/or to nursing staff where appropriate.
- Collaborates with doctors, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to provide quality pharmacy services.
- Procures and maintains all required documentation in accordance with state and federal regulations, as well as Senior Rx Care policy.
- Ensures accuracy of filled medications.
- Provides Clinical expertise by responding professionally to medication related questions.
- Assists the Director of Pharmacy Operations with instructing, directing, and overseeing pharmacy technicians and staff.
- Follows current guidelines for preparing all compounds, including I.V. therapy.
- Understand and follow Policy and Procedures.
- Take On-Call responsibilities on a routine basis.
- Must be able to work evening and weekend shifts when available.
Education And Experience
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited School of Pharmacy or PharmD
- Must have current, unrestricted licensure in the state(s) where you will be practicing.
- 1-year experience at a long-term-care environment preferred.
- Leadership and supervisory experience preferred.
- Strong analytical skills: ability to quickly identify problems and find effective solutions.
- Ability to multitask and complete jobs without supervision.
- Ability to assess information and make prudent, professional decisions.
- Ability to interact with facility, management, and other employees effectively and harmoniously at all levels; promotes teamwork and professionalism.
- Must be capable of maintaining regular attendance.
